Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, DJ CIV’s connection to music began in fifth-grade band and continued throughout high school. That early musical training developed his understanding of rhythm, timing, structure, and performance long before he stepped behind a DJ booth.

Growing up in a multicultural family introduced him to an incredibly wide range of music. Old-school hip-hop, R&B, funk, Motown, Latin music, pop, EDM, Top 40, and throwback favorites all helped shape the versatile open-format style he brings to every event.

 

DJ CIV does not depend on a premade playlist. He mixes live, reads the room, and adjusts throughout the event to keep the energy natural and the dance floor moving.
